Examples of Entertaiment

Entertaiment

A clown at a child’s birthday party, the Broadway show “Legally Blonde,” or your friends fighting over the last potato chip—these are all examples of entertainment. From the Old French entretenir (“to hold together”), entertainment originally referred to hospitality, but has come to mean amusement or distraction. Whether theatrical, visual (as in art), or audio (such as music), entertainment evolves and adapts to suit any occasion or audience.
